Day 200: Signs

The Year(s) of Living Non-Judgmentally

Sometimes —  especially when I’m experiencing “flow,” synchronicity, or other forms of connection and openness to living — I see signs.

By “signs,” I mean helpful indications of things to pay attention to.

Four examples of signs, according to Google Images:

Two examples of signs, according to me:

Sign:  It’s too friggin’ hot around here.

Possible meanings, reasons, things to pay attention to:

1.   Global warming.

Depending upon where you live, global warming is either (1) controversial or (2) completely non-controversial.

That about covers it, doesn’t it?

2. Maybe I really should consider moving.

Where I live, it’s Painful-Cold for many months of winter and Painful-Hot for many days of summer. This leads to helpful people giving this advice:  “Think about how cold it gets here during winter and get in touch with gratitude for the heat now.” (These are the same helpful people who…

Peace and Serenity

Windmills of My Mind

I place high value on peace and serenity. I avoid problems for the uncomfortable feelings it accompanies.

I sometimes shut down and don’t see or speak to anyone for days.  This is an acceptable venue on the ones that know me intimately. But, for others it scares the hell out of them!  They think I’m depressed, trying to commit suicide or starve myself.  No such thing!  Have you have had an influx of calls from family, friends and wrong numbers? The friends discuss all their freaking problems and family is scheduling you for events months from now! Enough!  The phone gets turned off the doorbell is unanswered and Mail piles up!  There that is my solution.

The book I borrowed it’s read, the movie I downloaded is viewed and the recepie I have been dying to create is created and shared with a glass of wine and cadlelit dinner.

The Falling Thoughts

Life is like a resort

People come and people go

Everyone is in a rush to leave

After the movie or the show

Once we go 6 feet under

There is no sister and bro

Yesterday’s pain has become today’s strength

Don’t let anyone to steal your glow

Life has its own pace

There is nothing fast or slow

What we got and what we lost

At the end we will all know

We all come from the same path

And there is only one way to go

Just row your boat with the flow

People come and people go

My Open Farm Community

my neo life

Its official. I have a new favourite restaurant. Lunch, brunch, dinner, coffee, family friendly. This place has it all. Open Farm Community is a gorgeous restaurant (with adjoining ‘farmacy’/shop), bringing the ‘grow your own food’ movement to the masses. The sizeable grounds are used to grow the fresh herbs/veges you see on your plate. The Farmacy sells produce, Common Man coffee (my favourite ‘coffee boyfriend’ has moved there from Tiong Bahru Bakery) and delicious drinks and other lovely stuff. You can register to participate in the community gardening sessions, and the last weekend of the month the Open Farmers Market is on, featuring fresh local produce for sale. Oh, and did I mention the table tennis, lawn bowls and large sandpit for the kiddos to play in? Without a doubt this is the nicest, most child friendly restaurant in Singapore.

Old Souls

Dreamspinner Extraordinaire

You have been here before
Known your way, above and below
Known for instance the difference
Between living and existing
With an ancient sight you perceived
Those indiscernible to the naked eyes
And this world has no feelings
Your ancient heart has not absorbed
The pain and hope and sheer ecstasy
Of many lifetimes create in you
A barren landscape of lassitude
Wearing you down day by day
Until you move on to another life

Definitely one of my very favorite treats! I highly recommend you make these! I usually give some away to friends as a gift because I cannot trust myself to not eat the entire thing all by myself.  They are so delicious!
