Stroke of Words

Karl's Blog

We take everything for granted

Until that dark moment in life

When something is lost in an instant

Something as simple as words

Trapped inside your mind

You grasp for meaning

You recognize the same

However, it does not come

A dark cloud consumes language

Dissecting sentences into gibberish

Sadness turns to frustration

Will I ever be the one I used to be?

Connecting the thoughts to speak, but the words don’t match. Learning to talk at 60 can have a devastating effect on your mental state. Frustration soon turns to depression. Such is the case with my brother and many others who have had a stroke that effects language skills.
