Feb 12 & 13 – Walking Around the RV Park

Dinata Misovec

We have not been too busy the last two days, so I don’t know why I forgot to post yesterday.  So here are two day’s worth of pictures around the RV park.  I really need to get you out a little more often.

We were taking one of our daily walks when Andy made a pit stop.  I sat by the canal to wait and watched a manatee swim by.  I ocurred to me that my manatee pictures usually post don’t have any scale. So here is a 17-ft boat in the background to give an idea how long the manatee is. Adult manatees average about 10-feet long and 800 to 1,200 pounds

b Manatee and Boat Manatee and Boat

b Pink Flower

The manatee beat us to the end of the canal and joined two others lollygagging behind another boat.

b Three Manatees in Canal

This morning, we were sitting outside in our screen room drinking coffee when I heard a woodpecker.  In…

Desperate Housewives

collegebinge

You might be thinking, “what Desperate Housewives?” but before you judge a show by its title, let me just say this is one of the greatest shows of all time.

And now you probably think I’m crazy. Good. That means you’ll keep reading.

Desperate Housewives  American television comedy-drama-mystery series about  the lives of a group of women as seen through the eyes of a dead neighbor who committed suicide in the very first episode.

That sounds kind of boring right? A old dead neighbor narrating her friends lives. However, its the mysteries that keep this show going strong for so long.

Why did the neighbor commit suicide?

Why does her husband look so suspicious?

What does her letter mean?

But wait, this show won’t take you a whole 5 seasons to tell you who what happen. The main reason why I love this show is that I know by the end of the season all…

Balance Me; Lip Balm.

Hannah Crossley

For years now I have been using vaseline & I’m sure most of you reading this do to but over the years it has become a ‘bad’ product to use on your skin due to it creating a veil over the skin which helps there and then but not over time. So when someone contacted me about a new lip balm coming out I jumped at the chance, I really struggle with sore lips due to using a lot of hand sanitiser at work I then touch my lips & it’s all over. Every night a use to slap the vaseline on. So for a trial I decided to go cold turkey and stop using it but in replacement I used the Balance Me Lip Quench Balm, honestly I didn’t think It was going to work, I have previously used coconut oil which actually made my lips worse, blister…

Changes to Lonely Author

The Lonely Author

juggling chimpLonely Author wants to thank everyone for putting up with his six week Lovefest. Also, sending special thanks to everyone who encouraged me with my Devil Girl Diaries.

During the past six weeks I have posted twice a day six days a week.

A pace that I can’t continue…..

There are characters banging inside my thick Chimp skull wanting to get out. Not to mention the characters of my completed novels and screenplays wanting their stories to be read/viewed.

There is also the issue of helping the butterflies in my life.

My daughter struggling with college as her mother’s health wanes.

My battered lady friends complaining, “I am always too busy.”

My pouting Allie accusing me of loving my blog more than I love her.

IT IS TOTALLY MY FAULT, for spoiling them.

In a nutshell, I will post less often. Some weeks more than others.

However, I will…

Canadian National Flag Day – Animated-gif-Canada-flag-waving-on-pole-in-front-of-water-picture-moving

The Royal Union Flag, which is also the flag of the United Kingdom, was used as the official flag of Canada until 1965. Various designs of the Canadian Red Ensign were used between 1868 and 1965 but Canada’s Parliament never officially adopted them. The National Flag of Canada’s current design results from a period of discussion, debate and political maneuvering in the early 1960s.

George F.G. Stanley designed the current flag, which is inspired by the Royal Military College of…

The End Of Moore’s Law On The Streets Of Shenzhen

The Arts Mechanical

Bunnie Huang goes shopping in Shenzhen.

http://www.wired.co.uk/magazine/archive/2015/08/features/moores-law/viewall

He makes some very good points about how the end of Moore’s law has come for processor speed.  The end of shrinking the gate size is coming shortly as well.  Not necessarily because the physics don’t work but because the machines to make the transistors will have gotten prohibitively expensive.  It seems that there was another exponential in Moore’s law.

It’s the cost to produce the machines that make the chips.  As the scale and cost of each individual transistor head toward zero the size and complexity of the optics to get to the smaller size elements head toward infinity.  It’s only a question of which curve crashes first. There’s a limit to how much a machine can cost before it become impossible to earn its cost back no matter how profitable the product is or how hard you run the machine.  In…

Jane on the Train

John Cowgill's Literature Site

Her name is Jane.

I met her while riding on a train.

I sat next to her by the window pane.

She was sucking on a candy cane.

She looked at me and said, “You are a friend I can gain.”

I said to her, “You are in my lane.”

We looked outside and watched the rain.

I saw that her jeans had a white stain.

“My ex-boyfriend went insane.”

She said as she peeled her sock off as her foot was in pain.

She massaged her bare foot with a little strain.

She told me that her dad fought in war, but he was slain.

Now she is on her way to Maine.

She cannot wait to see her dog, a Great Dane.

A ride with her was not in vain.

I rode with a beautiful lady named Jane.
