Artist Statement:
As a kid living in South Carolina I would go to the drag strip with my family to watch my uncle race. Once I got older and slowly stopped going, I started to remember the environment and the people as a somewhat surreal experience. Starting in the unbearable midday heat and going into the slightly more bearable late night, a day at the track was always an interesting one. The close-knit drag racing community is very diverse; the drivers’ day jobs range from successful chefs to car shop owners, all coming together to form a unique drag racing sub culture.
