Haddon Musings



I invite you to come and join me on this pilgrimage to change the world through thankfulness.  Perhaps if enough of us join together we can change the negative climate that exists and is overtaking our planet. Together we can move our fellow citizens of to a better, higher and finer place.

Two events of last week have found me thankful.  The first event is the peaceful transition of power after a bitterly fought election.  I am thankful to live in a country where our democracy is so valued that the acrimonious feelings of the losing side are put aside and our citizens and elected officials work together for the continued success of our democratic systems of government.

Breaking The Curse Of Being Skeptical.

They both have dreamt of a sky full of stars.
A soothing moonlight. Happy, winsome Air. Night long conversations about attainable dreams of a never-ending relationship.
He coupled his words with soothing gestures of caressing her from head to chin to her shoulders.
Those silent exchange of tenderness in the glances. Realizing the existence of heaven while embracing the reality of togetherness and compassion.
But as the wings of time start to get into the speed and those old age monsters of bed get into the picture, couples get more skeptical. They necessarily have to question everything.

Asking for a cup of tea might get you responses like
‘But you just had one an hour ago!’.

Different sets of disagreements for different intervals of a day. Questioning and doubting everything becomes more of a daily routine rather than a habit.

THE FLEXIBLE PERSONA,  a literary magazine, has a call out for its Spring 2017 issue. Interest is in fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry. The magazine is published twice a year and has specified reading periods. Submission guidelines HERE.

THE BeZINE, a publication of The Bardo Group Beguines will review submissions for the December issue, themed The Healing Power of the Arts, beginning on December 1.  Submit poetry, essay, nonfiction, creative nonfiction, photography, music videos and art or photography by December 10 to bardogroup@gmail.com.  Please review the publication first and the submission guidelines.
