Mallard Duck

What did the duck say when he bought lipstick?

“Put it on my bill.”

Interesting Fact: Ducks are strong fliers; migrating flocks of Mallards have been estimated traveling at 55 miles per hour. ( https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Mallard/lifehistory )

Poet Rummager

He whispered in her dreams.
As she stirred, hearing his words,
she reached out for him.
Fingers brushed against the snow,
collected on his arms.
You’re cold, she shivered –
moving close to give him warmth.
The heat from her embrace
thawed his resistance.
Water drenched his face.
Oh, no, you’re melting!
She touched his soaked cheeks –
shocked and disbelieving.
It’s my fault, he sighed.
I shouldn’t have stayed so long,
but as you dreamed, you smiled.
No chance of walking away
when my heart’s no longer
a frozen block of ice.
He kissed her as he liquefied
into a puddle on her rug.
Ah, I’ll miss your icicle,
Jack Frost, my love.

How to Effectively Cure a Cold

Life of an El Paso Woman

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend was better than mine! Unfortunately cold season is upon us. I spent the last few days in bed due to a nagging cold! I had symptoms like coughing, a stuffy nose, sore throat, headache, chills, fever and body aches. Although I’m FINALLY starting to feel better, I decided to look around the Internet to see which home remedies might help me. Here are a few that helped below: (P.S. I’m not a doctor but these personally helped me). The only over the counter medicines I took were cherry cough drops and two Nyquil shots for bed. 🙂 I also rubbed some Vicks on my neck, back and feet. I put socks on after rubbing it on my feet.

Day Trippin

Grumpy Railroad

Hello to all of my followers!

I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching about my blog presence.   I have three blogs,  and I need to try to cut back.   One is for volleyball. I will most likely keep that one alive.  As much as I still enjoy trains and model railroads,  the bulk of my down time lately has been devoted to photography.   Since I rarely post to this blog anymore, I am hoping to get you all to follow my photography blog.   I am going to try to merge them at some point,  however I never seem to have the time or know how to accomplish it.

In the meantime, I’ll be posting more at https://daytrippinphotography.wordpress.com/ If and when I go to a train museum or see some cool model railroad stuff, I’ll probably just post it over there.

Please run over and follow when you can!

Thanks, …

My Diary: The Frog Prince Has To Kiss Himself

Gerald's Rather Strange Diary

I got up wearing a hat kindly given to me by an aide to napoleon on the eve of the battle of Waterloo‭ (‬or was it Victoria‭)‬.‭ ‬The rest of my clothes dated from the multi-dimensional wars of the Thirty Fifth Century.‭ ‬June followed me downstairs with the names of several saints written on her dressing gown.‭ ‬I touched the middle of Saint Catherine before exiting the flying house to fall like acid rain on a small copse I caught instead of the bus.‭ ‬I travelled into the spiral pattern countryside where I talked with a large wood‭ (‬in his younger days a forest‭) ‬about green leaves turning brown in autumn.‭ ‬I said there would always be new shoots in Spring as the world itself didn’t exist only our interaction with it.‭ ‬After this we parted like the tributaries of a once mighty river.‭
