Ancient Hammer of the Revolutionary War

Here at Fort Ticonderoga on Lake Champlain in Upstate NY there were many historical buildings with lots of artifacts. One display showed tool artifacts and here was this massive steel hammer that looked typical for a hammer of today, but was about four times larger. It was dug up on the premises and was probably made in the 1700’s.
